PRS for Music Foundation - 4. The Organ of Corti by Liminal: "This idea from liminal, an arts practice led by composer David Prior and architect Frances Crow, introduces the concept of recycling existing sounds in already sound- saturated environments (the ‘Corti’ is part of the inner ear). It will create new ways of listening to what is already around us and an acoustic lens through which to contemplate the sounds of that specific location. The music will be collected and filtered by a portable structure resembling a fairground organ. The premiere of 'The Organ of Corti' would take place in the City of London during the three weeks of the 2011 City of London Festival. Three further performances are planned over the following week as 'The Organ of Corti' travels to various sites including the M6 motorway. �"

while at Burning Man, the strangest thing, every few hours, or less, I would hear someone call out "sness!" or sometimes "sness" would pop loudly out of a conversation. this does not happen for me in the real world. very cool.
