Furry Island Beach(#6396RLJ)
You are standing on Furry Island Beach, looking out over the crystal-blue waters of Henson Lake.  The white sand of the beach is warm and comfortable to your feet, and refreshing breezes blow toward you from the lake.
To the north, east, and south you can see scenic views of the lakeshore landmarks and buildings, and to the west you can follow a trail back to the clearing and grass hut.
The waters of the lake look refreshing... why not go for a swim?
The afternoon stretches on, as the sun slowly drops toward the western horizon.  Small clusters of furries chat amiably on the beach while others lie in the sun or drink cool drinks.

You take a deep breath and wade east into the lake until the water is over your head.
You find yourself underwater, yet oddly enough you are neither cold, nor PARTICULARLY wet, and you are able to breathe.
Underwater In Henson Lake
The water here has a very odd quality to it.  It's light, almost airy, and is
a particularly iridescent blue.  You find that you are neither cold nor
extremely wet, and that you are able to breathe fairly well.
The surface overhead ripples with sunlight and color, and to the west, you
can see the bottom rising until it meets the surface and becomes the Furry
Island beach.  To the north, the water takes on a darker, denser appearance
as the lake bottom slopes downwords.
The airy water continues to the east, where you can make out some kind of
building or structure.
To the south, the water resumes its normal appearance, where a sandy stretch
of lake bottom leads around to the west, and past that, the lake bed slopes
up to the surface.

You go east through the light, airy water.
You find yourself in the Octopus's Garden, in the shade.
In The Octopus's Garden (In The Shade)
This underwater eatery is patterned after the ornamental gardens of the surface world.  Tables are scattered amongst the paths and walkways of seashells with a large open area near the center for gatherings.  Octopi waiters and waitresses stand ready to assist you in ordering or delivering your repast.  Occasionally a vast dark shadow moves overhead, on the surface.
The "door" out of the restaurant is to the west, past two ornamental columns.

Roasted Salmon With Wasabi Cream
Olive oil
1 3/4 pounds wild king salmon fillet
Sea salt
6 teaspoons wasabi powder
1 cup sour cream.


1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Sprinkle a roasting pan (large enough to fit the salmon) with olive oil. Lay the salmon in the pan skin-side down. Rub a thin slick of oil over the salmon and season with salt. Roast until just cooked through, 20 to 30 minutes.


Ponzu
Juice of 2 lemons
1/4 cup seasoned rice vinegar
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
2 tablespoons tamari
1/4 cup mirin
1/4 cup bonito flakes
13-inch square kelp, cut in thirds.


In a bowl, mix together all the ingredients. Let sit for 24 hours, then strain through cheesecloth. Ideally, the ponzu should sit, refrigerated, for at least a month; it improves with age and may be stored in the refrigerator for up to six months. Serve as a dipping sauce for tempura. Makes about 1 1/2 cups. Adapted from ''Essentials of Asian Cuisine,'' by Corinne Trang (Simon & Schuster).
